Deputy Manager required for a Children’s Home in Harold Hill Essex RM3 9YU
 
We are looking for a Deputy Manager to join our 3 placement service in Harold Hill Havering London RM3. Supporting 8-18s with EBD and complex needs , helping to overcome their daily challenges to empower them to live a life they deserve and love.
There will be a strong opportunity to become Registered Manager between 6 and 12 months, you will have  full support from the Registered Manager, Directors and RI.
  • Salary up to £35k per year plus benefits
  • Full Time Hours 9-5 cover when RM off 2/3 off shift rota
  • Sleep-in paid at £50/sleep
  • Progression to RM encouraged for their next home.

Deputy Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support the Registered Manager in all aspects of the residential care of the Ofsted registered home, to provide a high quality service which meets the individual needs of the children and young people and to help create and maintain a non-institutionalised, child centred safe community home for extremely vulnerable children with EBD complex needs and behaviour difficulties.
  • Take on on-call duties outside of working hours in support of the home dealing with situations in line with children’s homes regulations and company procedures
  • Support staff on a day to day basis promoting good practice and responding to concerns or first line complaints.
  • Take part in the assessment process of potential new admissions to the home.
  • Oversee record keeping and take part in the regular auditing of the children and young people’s records, responding to any issues requiring further action, including those identified at reviews.
  • Manage and provide supervision for designated support workers and night waking support worker
Requirements for Deputy Manager
  • Diploma L3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Willingness to complete Diploma L5 L&M in H&S
  •  Knowledge of CHR 2015 and the QS
  • Awareness of Equal Opportunities/ADP issues
  • Knowledge of the Children Act and other relevant legislation
  • Team-building skills
  • Supervision skill
  • Ability to manage teams effectively.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Understanding the needs of looked-after children including managing challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent organisational skills  12 months relevant supervisory experience
  • 24 months experience of working in a residential setting with and managing challenging behaviour.
